Job Summary:

The Lab Specialist will review, monitor, and correlate internal and external information and resources to ensure that patient laboratory reports are accurate and reproducible. This role will also be responsible for instituting and maintaining quality assurance measures as required by licensing or accrediting agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and monitor laboratory reports to ensure accuracy and reproducibility
  • Institute and maintain quality assurance measures as required by licensing or accrediting agencies
  • Perform instrument maintenance, training of personnel, inventory control, quality control, and troubleshooting and resolving problems
  • Communicate with clinicians, clients, and patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field
  • One year internship in an accredited hospital followed by completion of the Board of Registry examination
  • Advanced level of physiological chemistry, quantitative analysis, higher mathematics, statistical analysis, and computer training
  • Customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clinicians, clients, and patients and their families
Work Environment:

This role will be based in our Core Lab department and will require working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
