Business Development Manager

Secmation has an exciting opportunity for a results-driven, forward-facing, customer relations expert in Business Development with professional experience in the Defense industry. This individual will assist with the identification, qualification, and pursuit of new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a Business Development team selling software products or services in Cybersecurity, Military Communications, Avionics, or IT to various customers within the DoD. As an integral part of our Business Development team, your primary role will be to interface directly with customers and partners, drive the internal Business Development processes, and identify, lead and execute new proposals and contracts.
What You Will Do
· Grow the opportunity pipeline in adjacent markets/customers, to include US Government markets using strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of opportunities.
· Identify and cultivate relationships with new and current key customers and strategic partners to facilitate new business opportunities with the focus on US Defense customers.
· Acquire market intelligence market analysis and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and capture strategy/solution development leading to award of major programs.
· Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies in order to successfully identify client requirements for new business opportunities.
· Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews.
· Maintain accurate records of all lead interactions in our CRM system.
· Marketing activities such as collateral development, conference exhibits, social media posts, etc., that align with the company’s interest to further our market presence.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
· 7+ years of sales experience focused on software products or services with significant knowledge in Cybersecurity, Military Communications, Avionics, or IT.
· 3+ years of related experience in U.S. Defense Business Development with a proven track record of business capture for technical services programs.
· Experience across full lifecycle of business development activities to include market & customer research, capture management and proposal development.
· Demonstrable understanding of federal procurement acquisition process, contract types (non-IDIQ, IDIQ - single or multiple award contracts), as well as payment types (e.g., FFP, T&M, cost plus) is expected.
· Proven track record in business development capture activities and leading captures for programs valued at more than $5M.
· Current DoD Security Clearance (at any level).
· Must be willing to travel for the position.
