A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to work closely with and support the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement practice group and Investigations working group. The Senior Business Development Manager will lead business development, branding, and marketing initiatives, serving as a strategic business advisor to the practice group leadership team and attorneys.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with department, practice, and working group leaders to develop and execute annual business development plans, including expanding and diversifying existing client relationships, attracting new clients, and identifying areas for cross-selling.
  • Provide high-level business development advice and guidance, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the group’s experience, client base, market forces, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop new approaches to support client retention and expansion, as well as brand elevation.
  • Create formal and informal pitch materials and proposal responses, reflecting a clear understanding of the opportunity and focusing on relevant experience and value-added offerings.
  • Collaborate with practice leadership and marketing/recruiting leadership to develop messaging, materials, and successful strategies for lateral recruiting efforts.
  • Support the integration of lateral partners and senior counsel, facilitating strategic introductions and business pursuit opportunities.
  • Develop marketing collateral, website descriptions, experience lists, and other client-facing materials, ensuring they are up-to-date.
  • Analyze client and market intelligence to inform business development initiatives and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Plan client development events and drive written thought leadership efforts.
  • Oversee the preparation of strategic submissions to Chambers, Law360, and other ranking publications.
  • Assist in developing and managing the business development budget for the practice groups.
  • Guide, mentor, and train direct reports to maximize the effectiveness of the BD function.


Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; JD, MBA, or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of Legal Marketing or BD experience required.
  • Proven experience in proactive business development, including expanding existing client relationships and developing new clients.
  • Strong business and marketing acumen, with the ability to leverage business intelligence to identify opportunities and support go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience working with a White-Collar practice strongly preferred.
