Business Intelligence Developer Location: Hybrid or Remote (Lexington, Louisville, or Fort Wright, KY)  Dean Dorton, one of the largest and most acclaimed certified public accounting and business advisory firms in the Midwest and Southeast, has an opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer with expertise in Microsoft Power BI and Azure Data Factory to enhance our data-driven decision-making processes. This role focuses on designing and deploying comprehensive modern data warehousing, dashboard, and reporting solutions that support strategic business objectives. In this role you will:
  • Design and implement end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, and modern data warehousing techniques.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage Power BI reports and dashboards that provide insightful and actionable business analytics.
  • Utilize Azure Data Factory for data integration services to orchestrate and automate data movement and transformation.
  • Build and maintain a scalable and performant data warehouse to support BI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into solutions.
  • Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, and deliver ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to team members on BI tools and data strategy. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence development, including significant experience with Microsoft Power BI and Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining modern data warehouses.
  • Proven ability to use DAX, Power Query, and other advanced analytical functions in Power BI.
  • Demonstrable experience with Azure cloud services, particularly in data management and warehousing solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
You will catch our immediate attention if you have:
  • Certifications in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory, or other relevant technologies.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
  • Knowledge of additional Azure services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database
