Responsibilities:
Responds to and educates client's employees and dependents about their health and welfare benefits and resolves benefits issues by responding to incoming emails as well as escalated cases created by the Customer Advocate. Issues of low to moderate complexity are resolved and questions are answered by communicating with insurance carriers, providers, and third party administrators. Responds accurately to benefit questions, provides claim resolution expertise and any other assistance and/or support. Advocates on behalf of the client members as necessary to assist with eligibility, claim and benefit issues and any other question. Addresses customer requests via incoming and outgoing emails, as well as cases in our proprietary CRM system. Maintains clear and accurate records and updates open issues by logging into a secure database. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.

Qualifications:
Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum 6 months experience as a Customer Advocate. Current Life, Accident & Health Resident State Insurance License or ability to successfully obtain license within 45 days of hire date. Ability to work overtime as business need requires.

Preferred: Bachelors degree preferred. Minimum 3 years related experience preferred. Prior customer service and/or employee benefits experience highly desirable. Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is beneficial. Bi-lingual candidates desired.

Behaviors: Adheres to HIPAA Privacy Rules by maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and complying with all applicable laws. Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical, to client members/customers in a clear and concise manner. Ability to empathize and show patience. Good problem solving skills.
