What you'll do:
Viasat is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to fill the role of Director of Tactical Gateways. The successful candidate will be responsible for heading the Tactical Data Link Gateway business area, leading a team of professionals to drive market expansion, revenue growth, and successful execution of programs within the Department of Defense (DoD) and related sectors. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets, identifying, and capturing new market opportunities, and delivering exceptional results in the defense technology sector.

The day-to-day:
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Tactical Gateway business area, setting clear objectives and initiatives to drive growth and profitability.

Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and Lead Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities to expand the company's footprint, leveraging cutting-edge offerings to meet customer needs and drive revenue growth.

Program Execution: Oversee the full lifecycle of programs, from shaping requirements and capture to proposal, negotiation, execution, and contract closeout, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and performance goals.

Customer Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving repeat business.

Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the Tactical Gateway business area, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation, to achieve annual revenue growth targets 

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to program success.

What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within the defense technology sector, with a track record of driving revenue growth and successfully executing large-scale programs.

Working knowledge of the Federal procurement process (including IDIQs, OTAs, BAAs, and other acquisition instruments).

Demonstrated expertise in Department of Defense, specifically US Air Force and Special Operations, strategy.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.

Proven ability to think strategically, identify market trends, and capitalize on new opportunities to drive business growth.

Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.

Former US Military experience preferred.

Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).

Active Secret clearance.
