We're partnering with a company in the Space Industry that's experiencing significant growth, particularly in satellite capabilities through in-space servicing.

We're seeking our first dedicated Business Development professional to drive growth from the ground up. Your mission? Lead our BD efforts across a 60/40 government/commercial split.

As the Head of BD, you'll spearhead our B2B and B2G channels, driving revenue generation and validating markets. We're gaining traction, but we lack established pipelines. Autonomy is crucial; we need someone who can hit the ground running. If you're a proactive strategist ready to make an immediate impact, seize this career-defining opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Channel development: Identify and cultivate effective sales channels.

- Represent us at key events, fostering partnerships and sales opportunities.

- Bridge technical details with stakeholder requirements to convey our product's value proposition.

- Identify opportunities and tailor solutions to government needs to maximize parallel opportunities.

- Develop and execute customer tracking and sales funnel methodology.

2. Revenue generation: Prospect, qualify, propose, and close deals.

- Align our roadmap and resource allocation to capitalize on funding and technical opportunities.

- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure product concepts align with our development priorities.

- Lead capture efforts from lead generation to contract award, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.

- Develop pricing strategies tailored for commercial and government customers.

3. Roadmap development: Strategically plan and adapt to market dynamics.

- Regularly update our product roadmap based on market intelligence and customer feedback.

- Quantify the viability and Total Addressable Market for our services.

- Track market shifts, partnerships, and funding injections to inform our strategy.

- Communicate our value proposition to customers, aligning with their present and future needs.

4. Other responsibilities: Attend conferences, meetings, and engage with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, with a technical background in space systems preferred.

- Minimum 5 years of business development experience, ideally within the space industry.

- Expertise in space domain awareness and/or in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing.

- Deep understanding of government and DoD acquisitions processes.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

- Growth mindset with a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Understanding of the startup ecosystem within the space industry.
