Overview:

The Director of Marketing and Community Relations oversees three departments:  Marketing, Hospital Foundation and Volunteer Services. The Director will be responsible for increasing the visibility of the organization, its programs, and its fundraising events, as well as increase the number of active donors and volunteers. They will create a strategy that builds relationships and develops partnerships to support the Hospital. 

This position is responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing the activities and staff related to NARMC Health-System Marketing, Hospital Foundation and Volunteer Services. 

Responsibilities:

Works with Administration and the Engineering Department to support design for various projects. 

Assist to develop a strategic plan designed to identify the necessary actions needed to reach the objectives of the Hospital and prepare action plans to carry out the initiatives. 

Demonstrates good personal presence and bearing, reliability, discipline, resourcefulness, creativity, good judgement, common sense and integrity of the highest order.  

Acts as a liaison with various outside agencies and organizations to support NARMC’s mission, vision and value.

Ensures confidentiality and professionalism at all times with high regard for promoting the organization within the community.

Develops and maintains departmental budgets.

Marketing

Oversees all aspects of marketing, including staff, internal to the organization and external to the market and community.

Develops innovative advertising, public relations, digital marketing, social media, and events.

Ensure that branding policies are followed, as well as creates and updates current policies for departments.

Works with local, state and regional media outlets to promote the organization.

Works with each NARMC department and clinic to form marketing packages that enhance their brand awareness.

Coordinates with outside marketing firms to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the organization.

Manages and enhances community relationships and perception.

Volunteer Services

Responsible for managing, coordinating, and developing Volunteer Services for all areas of NARMC, including Hospice volunteers, NARMC Auxiliary, and the Gold Club.

Promotes interest in the volunteer program and the hospital through community-wide events.

Coordinates the annual volunteer recognition event and other events that support NARMC volunteers.

Responsible for oversight of the Auxiliary Gift Shop and Thrift Shop.

Enhances and optimizes volunteer services to support the mission of NARMC.

Foundation

Builds and maintains long-term relationships with key donors and potential donors.

Develops a planned giving program that encourages legacy gifts.

Develops grant writing program to pursue federal, state, local, and other monies in pursuit of the organization’s mission.

Organizes and coordinates fundraising events throughout the year to promote specific needs of the organization.

Achieves financial support through grants, gifts, sponsorships, and other forms of defined giving.

Represents the organization at local, state, and regional events in a professional manner.

Obtains new revenue funds and achieves competitiveness for the provider organization through the acquisition of gifts, donations, and grants. 

Works closely with the Foundation Board and Foundation Advisory Board to achieve financial goals.

Oversees the donor software program.

Promotes the Foundation and its events through social media outlets.

Ensures proper accounting for Foundation funds.

Prepares annual revenue and expense budgets for the Foundation.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED

PREFERRED

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ Communications or in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field or 10 years’ experience performing a similar function in a healthcare facility.  

A Masters in Marketing/ Communications is preferred.

Minimum of five years’ experience in marketing and communications. A minimum of two years supervisory experience.

 

 

 

Experience in healthcare organization.

 

  

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

As this is a high-profile position, effective public speaking skills are a must. It is also necessary that you exhibit professionalism at all times as you will be viewed as the figurehead of the firm. You will be required to express a high level of creativity, flexibility and decisiveness in this position. An ability to manage stress and supervise the work of staff is imperative.
