Position: Server Assistant, Part-Time, Open through April 2026

Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary:

Support the service team by maintaining a clean, organized dining area and ensuring guests have everything they need for an exceptional experience. Anticipate server and guest needs to help create smooth, enjoyable service at Hive.

Table & Service Support:

  • Assist servers by pre-bussing tables, refilling beverages, and resetting tables efficiently.
  • Deliver food, condiments, and other items to tables as directed.
  • Monitor guest needs and communicate with servers to ensure prompt, attentive service.
  • Maintain clean and polished service stations, glassware, and utensils throughout the shift.

Guest Experience:

  • Greet guests with warmth and assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests or direct them to the appropriate team member.
  • Support servers in ensuring food and beverage presentation meets Hive standards.
  • Assist with packaging and presenting take-home items neatly and efficiently.

Service Area Maintenance:

  • Keep dining and service areas tidy, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
  • Restock silverware, napkins, condiments, and other supplies as needed.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of the dining room before and after service.
  • Report maintenance or cleanliness concerns to management promptly.

Safety and Hygiene:

  • Follow sanitation, cleaning, and safety standards throughout all work areas.
  • Handle glassware, dishware, and food items safely and responsibly.
  • Complete required food safety and hygiene training.
  • Maintain a clean uniform and professional appearance at all times.

Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff.
  • Protect company assets through safe work habits and responsible use of equipment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, efficiency, and attention to detail under pressure.

Requirements:

Skills:

  • Basic math, computer skills, and ability to read and understand English.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for 6–8 hours.
