Gateway Management Company, a growing property management company, is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to work in our corporation office Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5 PM.

Position Description:

This position supports the Accounting Department with a focus on Accounts Payable.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Processes invoices received from vendors for payment. This includes checking invoices for accuracy, identifying and solving problems, coding invoices, and entering data into Accounts Payable system to print and mail on a weekly basis.
  • Answers accounts payable related questions from vendors and internal employees.
  • Creates new vendor set up in accounting system ensuring that appropriate documents including W9 and certificate of insurance are collected.
  • Processes Final Account Statements to be mailed to former tenants within required deadlines.
  • Maintains Accounts Payable files, matching payments to invoices.
  • Assist the Property Accountant with the bill back processing to include insurance premiums, learning management system, payroll fees and other miscellaneous invoices.
  • Sorts and distributes accounting mail.
  • Provides back up to the main phone line as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, as demonstrated by regularly verifying all work thoroughly to ensure.

Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, trade school and/or some college.
  • 2 to 4 years related accounting work experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Normal demands associated with an office environment.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
  • This position requires long periods of sitting behind a desk, performing tasks on computer.
