Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a primary point of contact for departments and staff and students regarding process, benefits, and pay-related issues. The incumbent is responsible for processing a wide range of administrative and human resources processes for staff and students. The position is responsible for maintaining the human resource database (Workday), and other HR databases to ensure personal, benefit and payroll related information for all staff and students are updated in an accurate and timely fashion. This position is responsible for providing high quality customer service to departments and employees who reach out for guidance and assistance from HR. Further, this position participates in working groups and special projects related to the HR Office Administration needs.

This position reports to the Manager, HR Staff and Student Administration to ensure all staff/student actions comply with university regulations and that an accurate record of all transactions are maintained both electronically and physically. This position advises staff and students on their benefits and compensation.

Essential Functions:

  • Track, analyze and process employee data, new hire processing, period activity pay, onboarding, and offboarding in Workday. Efficiently and accurately processes hiring action, period activity pay, termination, and other related electronic documentation to ensure that all staff members are paid accurately each pay date. Works closely with department representatives in getting required electronic documentation so that employees are paid appropriately. Works closely with payroll specialists to resolving pay-related problems.
  • Serves as a point of contact for customers by answering routine questions regarding pay, benefits, policies, and other HR related issues. Conduct individual orientation sessions as needed. Managed the hiring, on-boarding, and off-boarding of employees. Responds to HR Service Now tickets and emails in a timely manner. Works closely with Benefits and Payroll Specialists to resolve issues.
  • Assist with new hire processing, including the intake and facilitation of out-of-state hiring with nextSource. Ensures that all required paperwork is received and processed in a timely manner, guiding departments on the process steps, and maintaining high level of service.
  • General administration duties such as assisting the HR teams on projects. Assisting front desk Administrative Assistant with completing I-9s for employees and works with departments to ensure that I-9s are completed for all employees within the required time frame. May serve as a coordinator for specific Human Resources related operations for the entire service delivery team, for example, federal work study.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time.
  • 35 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $27 - $30 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2 - 4 years of relevant experience.
