ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER

Location: Dallas, Tx

Schedule: Hybrid

Salary & Bonus Opportunity Commensurate with Skills & Experience

J MAR's client, a well-established midstream Oil & Gas Company, seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to run the AP process. This key role reports to the Assistant Controller and manages the company's full accounts payable function and employee expense process. The role is hands-on, managing the process, not staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle AP process, including invoice entry, coding, approval routing, and payment processing.
  • Accurately code invoices to the correct AFE, cost center, or project to ensure budget alignment.
  • Classify invoices according to company standards.
  • Maintain vendor records in NetSuite and resolve vendor inquiries.
  • Monitor AP aging reports and prepare payment runs.
  • Process and reconcile employee expense reports in compliance with company policy.
  • Review for accuracy and adherence to guidelines, resolving discrepancies with employees as needed.
  • Serve as the primary NetSuite AP administrator for invoices, vendors, and expenses.
  • Partner with Accounting leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Support month-end close with AP account reconciliations and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and SOX/GAAP requirements.
  • Maintain documentation to support audits and provide timely responses to requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience within the oil & gas or energy industries.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Experience with Concur or other expense management systems a plus.
  • Strong understanding of AFE coding and CapEx/OpEx classification in an oil & gas environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Comfortable serving as the AP point of contact for the organization.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional.
