Job Description:

We are boutique business law firm looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to support our legal team in delivering outstanding service to our clients. The role is remote and best for someone looking for flexibility with their work schedule. The legal assistant will assist with onboarding clients, managing administrative tasks, assisting attorneys with legal research, formatting documents, and manage billing for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the general operations of a boutique law firm.
  • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate client billing process and trust accounting with firm's bookkeeper.
  • Liaising with potential new clients by onboarding and collecting documents.
  • Drafting engagement letters for new clients.
  • Record and monitor client deadlines.
  • General administrative tasks such as answering emails, calendar scheduling and sending mail.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Communicate with clients professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain and update CRM tools.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, and Google Workspace.
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar office administrative role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable and quick at learning how to navigate new technology.
  • General knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Competent and not afraid to take initiative.
