Accounts Payable Accountant – Houston, TX

Location: Houston, Texas (In-Office)

About the Opportunity:

We're seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join a growing construction firm based in Houston. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and has strong organizational and accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, code, and process invoices and purchase orders
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of accounts payable transactions
  • Assist with weekly check runs and electronic payments
  • Collaborate with project managers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Support the month-end close process and assist with journal entries as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting
  • Experience in construction or related industry preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills
