Responsibilities

  • Prepare individual, business, and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently using various accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial tools.
  • Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports to ensure completeness and compliance with current tax laws.
  • Analyze clients' financial data to identify deductions, credits, and opportunities for tax savings while maintaining strict adherence to federal and state regulations.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients, providing guidance on filing procedures and potential financial strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and industry best practices to ensure all filings are compliant.
  • Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry using 10 key typing skills and accounting software management.
  • Support marketing efforts by engaging with clients professionally to promote additional services such as financial planning or bookkeeping solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members on public accounting projects or corporate accounting tasks that require analysis skills and technical accounting knowledge.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all tax filings, client communications, and related documentation for audit readiness.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally, fostering long-term relationships built on trust.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in tax preparation with a strong background in accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public accounting practices, corporate accounting procedures, and bookkeeping processes.
  • Strong analysis skills combined with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all filings.
  • Excellent math skills coupled with the ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining technical tax information clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy and professionalism.
  • Prior experience in sales or marketing is a plus for promoting additional services confidently.
