Duties

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individual and small business clients using advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage.
  • Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and receipts, to gather necessary information for accurate tax filing.
  • Analyze client financial data to identify deductions, credits, and potential savings opportunities.
  • Communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients, offering guidance on tax strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of all client documentation, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility for future reference.
  • Assist with marketing efforts by promoting additional financial services and building strong client relationships.
  • Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and software updates to ensure compliance and efficiency throughout the season.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related financial roles with a strong understanding of tax concepts.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage; familiarity with other financial software is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, corporate accounting practices, and bookkeeping fundamentals.
  • Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately and identify key deductions or credits.
  • Strong math skills coupled with high typing accuracy (10-key typing proficiency preferred).
  • Exceptional customer service abilities to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines during peak tax season while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic marketing skills to support outreach efforts for additional services when appropriate.
