Overview:
Join a leading Department of Defense Industry company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions and services to meet the evolving needs of our defense clients. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving our growth and expanding our footprint within the Department of Defense.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the Department of Defense Industry. Analyze competitor activities and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and military personnel. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement effective business development strategies. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations to enhance our market position.
- Proposal Development: Lead the preparation and submission of compelling proposals in response to government solicitations. Ensure proposals align with client requirements, comply with industry standards, and showcase our capabilities effectively.
- Contract Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with clients to secure contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and align with company objectives. Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including technical experts, project managers, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of awarded contracts. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet client expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven track record of at least five years in business development within the Department of Defense Industry.
- In-depth knowledge of defense procurement processes, regulations, and industry dynamics.
- Strong network within the defense sector, including government agencies and contractors.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business or a related field.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the defense industry.
- Previous military experience or understanding of military operations.
