The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Systems Analyst II is responsible for analyzing and optimizing healthcare revenue cycle operations using specialized systems to improve financial performance and ensure timely reimbursement from patients and payers. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency in SQL, Excel, and PowerBI, and knowledge of healthcare billing processes and regulations. The analyst collaborates with leadership and client-facing teams to deliver actionable insights and support operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Develop and maintain SQL-based queries and scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Build and optimize PowerBI dashboards to visualize KPIs, denial trends, and revenue cycle metrics
  • Use advanced Excel functions for ad-hoc analysis and recurring reporting needs
  • Interpret system data, identify performance gaps, and recommend system improvements
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RCM systems, including setting up profiles, tables, and procedure manuals
  • Create and maintain reports such as accounts receivable aging, operational performance, and payer compliance
  • Collaborate with leadership, billing staff, and other departments to align documentation with billing requirements
  • Analyze payer contract compliance and monitor denial trends to identify opportunities for revenue recovery
  • Coordinate with RCM system vendors and to design and test system upgrades and implementations
  • Respond to internal and external data requests with clear, well-documented reporting outputs
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of reports and software updates to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to billing systems and RCM transformation

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, including definition, measurement, and implementation of controls
  • Contribute to team goals through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field required
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle analytics or billing systems required
  • Proven experience with SQL, PowerBI, and advanced Excel required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams and levels of the organization
