San Juan Capistrano, California, United States Identified Talent Solutions Full time $70,000 - $85,000 per year

Job description:

Exciting opportunity with a fast growing, award winning workplace (recently voted "Best Places to Work in OC")

Join a high energy payroll and finance team that values growth, learning, and operational excellence. This role is perfect if you enjoy working with payroll systems, solving data puzzles, and improving processes that directly impact employees and the business. You'll be a key systems SME supporting payroll integrity, reporting, and automation — with real visibility and room to grow.

Why you'll love this role

  • Work with modern payroll systems (Workday experience highly valued) and become the go-to expert for payroll data and reporting.
  • Have meaningful impact: improve payroll accuracy, speed up reconciliations, and help shape system and process improvements.
  • Join a recognized best place to work — where development, teamwork, and mentorship are prioritized.
  • Clear path to broaden into payroll operations, reporting, or project leadership as you demonstrate impact.

What you'll do

  • Own payroll data integrity in Workday: reconcile reports, spot and fix errors, and ensure completeness.
  • Support payroll users and managers with system questions, ad hoc report requests, and data analysis.
  • Audit payroll and time data to support tax and year-end reporting corrections.
  • Troubleshoot payroll, time tracking, and time off configurations and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Run payroll processing tasks as needed (review time entry accuracy, manual deductions, retro adjustments, load EIBs).
  • Build and maintain custom reports to support operations, compliance, and leadership needs.
  • Reconcile payroll postings to the general ledger and help ensure 401(k)/deferred comp/pretax payments are accurate.
  • Support vendor interfaces and resolve integration issues with third parties.
  • Contribute to payroll system projects from design through implementation and recommend process improvements.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of payroll systems support or payroll processing experience.
  • Practical experience with Workday; ADP or DailyPay a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills, and comfort working with data and EIBs.
  • Good communicator who can explain technical details to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Able to juggle tactical payroll tasks while supporting longer term projects and improvements.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred.

If you're passionate about payroll systems and want to grow your career in a collaborative, highly rated workplace, this is a great next step.
