We support general contractors, design firms, and MEP trade partners nationwide with high-quality modeling, coordination, and project documentation that reduce rework and keep projects on schedule.We're a 100+ person team with over 20 years of combined industry experience, and we're on a mission to double revenue over the next year by partnering with more forward-thinking construction and design firms.Role OverviewWe're looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to own and grow our pipeline of new construction and design clients. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers (GCs, design firms, and MEP trades), and converting qualified leads into long-term clients.You will work closely with our leadership and operations teams to understand our services, shape proposals, and ensure a smooth handoff from sales to delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development & Pipeline Growth
- Identify, research, and target prospective clients (GCs, design/engineering firms, and MEP trade contractors) in the commercial and industrial construction space
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities through outbound outreach (LinkedIn, email, calls), networking, and industry events
- Qualify leads based on fit, scope, budget, and timeline, and move them through a structured sales process
Sales & Relationship Management
- Conduct discovery calls to understand client needs around VDC, BIM, coordination, and document control
- Present Doc2Build's services, capabilities, and differentiators in a clear, value-driven way
- Prepare and deliver proposals, scopes of work, and pricing in collaboration with the operations/technical team
- Negotiate terms and close deals that align with company targets and margins
- Maintain and deepen relationships with key accounts to drive repeat business and referrals
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely with leadership to refine our ideal customer profile, positioning, and go-to-market approach
- Provide feedback from the market on pricing, competition, and client needs to help shape service offerings
- Collaborate with marketing on outreach campaigns, case studies, and sales collateral
Reporting & Process
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and activities in our CRM or tracking tools
- Report regularly on pipeline, forecast, and performance against targets
- Contribute to building and improving a repeatable, scalable sales process
RequirementsMust-Have:
- 3–5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Experience selling services or solutions in the construction, engineering, or AEC industry (e.g., GC, subcontractor, BIM/VDC, engineering services, construction tech)
- Strong understanding of how commercial/industrial construction projects run (design, coordination, preconstruction, field execution)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building new business
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to speak credibly with project managers, VDC managers, and executives
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting and building relationships from cold/warm outreach
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools and workflows (Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Procore, etc.)
- Experience selling technical or professional services (BIM/VDC, engineering, design, or consulting)
- Existing network of contacts at GCs, design firms, or MEP trades
