Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to oversee our tax compliance operations, review complex returns, and supervise accounting support staff. This role is ideal for a CPA or Enrolled Agent with extensive experience handling complex individual, corporate, and trust tax returns—especially those involving sophisticated trust structures.

This is a full-time, remote position that follows Central Time Zone hours. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, skilled reviewer, and trusted mentor who thrives in a detail-oriented, process-driven environment.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise a team of accounting and tax professionals in a remote environment
  • Review complex individual (1040), corporate (1120/1120-S), and trust returns, including multi-entity and multi-state filings
  • Evaluate and manage returns tied to complex trust structures and high-net-worth clients
  • Review financial statements, bank records, and IRS transcripts for accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee compliance tracking to ensure timely and precise filings
  • Maintain and enforce internal review and quality control procedures
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to staff
  • Communicate professionally with clients, tax agencies, and internal teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in compliance roles within the financial sector or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX regulations, auditing standards, and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts including asset management, investment strategies, budgeting, and payroll processes.
  • CPA preferred or Enrolled Agent (EA) acceptable
  • 5+ years of hands-on tax preparation and review experience, including complex trust, corporate, and individual returns
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience required
  • Strong proficiency with Intuit ProSeries, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with cloud-based workflow and document management systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and process management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Must be available to work full-time, Central Time Zone hours (Mon–Thurs 8–5, Fri 8–12:30)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80, $100,000.00 per year
