What you'll do

  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and other relevant records to determine tax liabilities.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to streamline the tax preparation process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and offering guidance on tax-related matters.
  • Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance service offerings and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of clients' financial situations to identify potential deductions and credits.
  • Maintain organized records of client interactions, tax filings, and supporting documentation.

Experience

  • Proven experience in tax preparation or a related field is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, public accounting principles, and corporate accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail; experience with financial analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and technical accounting standards is beneficial.
  • Strong math skills to ensure accurate calculations during the preparation process.
  • Previous experience in financial sales or marketing can enhance your effectiveness in this role.
  • Ability to type efficiently using 10-key typing skills for data entry tasks.
