Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join our MHOTRS team. The Clinician will provide direct therapy services to clients while overseeing the clinical approval and supervision of Peer Support Services. This role ensures that Peer Support hours are clinically appropriate, goal-aligned, and compliant with OMH and Medicaid regulations. The clinician will collaborate closely with peer staff, families, and the clinical leadership team to support holistic client care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide individual, family, or group therapy as clinically indicated.
  • Develop, review, and update treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Utilize evidence-based modalities to address a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Document all clinical interactions and treatment decisions in the EHR (Insync) in accordance with OMH documentation standards.

Peer Support Oversight

  • Review clinical assessments and determine eligibility and appropriate number of Peer Support hours for each client.
  • Collaborate with the Peer Program Coordinator to ensure that assigned hours align with clinical goals and treatment objectives.
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision for peer staff (minimum 1 hour per 40 hours worked), ensuring alignment with scope of practice and recovery-oriented principles.
  • Review and approve peer session notes, ensuring documentation meets OMH, Medicaid, and agency standards.
  • Participate in peer onboarding and training to promote integration between clinical and peer services.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with OMH, DOH, and Medicaid requirements related to clinical oversight of Peer Support.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including case reviews, audits, and corrective action planning.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care with clinicians, peers, and program administrators.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active LMSW license in New York State (required); LCSW preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with behavioral health needs.
  • Familiarity with Peer Support models, recovery-oriented care, and OMH/MHOTRS regulations.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills with proficiency in EHR systems (Insync experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage collaboratively across teams.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in a remote or hybrid environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience providing supervision or clinical oversight for Certified Peer Specialists (NYCPS/NYCRPS, YPA, FPA).
  • Knowledge of Medicaid billing procedures, service documentation, and treatment plan alignment requirements.
  • Experience conducting training or onboarding for behavioral health staff.
