Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering therapeutic services, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family counseling sessions utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art therapy.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine clients' mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address clients' goals and challenges while incorporating evidence-based practices.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and management strategies to support clients during critical situations.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 standards.
  • Provide direct support to clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or chronic pain conditions through tailored therapeutic approaches.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent certification is required. LPC or LMSW.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management within clinical settings.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient assessment procedures, and behavioral health practices.
  • Experience working with children and families is preferred; special education experience is a plus.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations while demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity to gender issues.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
