Business Banking Operations Specialist

Position Summary: The Omaha Operations Specialist is responsible for providing primary support to the Treasury Management Officer, support the Private Banking Officer, as well as cross train and be proficient as a specialist for Residential Construction. Candidate must be flexible and a team player; backing up each position on an as needed basis.
As part of our hybrid work from home opportunity guidelines, associates are expected to work 4 days onsite in Omaha, NE with the opportunity of 1 day WFH each week. Eligibility for this arrangement beginning upon completion of onboarding.
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person, on the phone, via email and through written correspondence. Answer questions, refer inquiries and direct calls accordingly.
- Proficient understanding and ability to effectively communicate all Treasury Management and Electronic Banking products and services to bank clients and prospects.
- Serve as the primary contact for referrals and/or requests of services, respond to inquiries for specific features including the collection of information (including financial statements) required to support underwriting, prepare, and deliver agreements for signature.
- Build relationships with existing bank clients through internal prospecting, analysis and recommendation of services directly and/or in coordination with business development officers. Coordinate service agreements and documentation needed for bank clients, either directly or working through other departments.
- Contact for coordination, implementation, and training for new and existing customers to ensure excellent customer service through phone, online communications, or on-site visits.
- Review account documentation and other service agreements to ensure all agreements are complete and accurate.
- Assist business development officers in the completion of presentations including exposure limits related to credit cards, ACH files and remote deposit limits.
- Support Private Banking loan officers and Residential Construction loan officers by coordinating all steps of the loan transaction, from application to closing. Complete borrower checklist and documentation request packet checklist and ensure adherence to all bank policies, including bank loan policy, government regulations, and compliance requirements, as well as matching terms of commitment letters, if applicable. Ensure proper approval for note requests and any variances from loan presentation summary prior to document preparation. Communicate with loan officer, customer, and documentation preparation loan assistant to determine closing date.
- Perform regular construction site inspections, upload, and save pictures to individual borrower electronic folders and manage construction draws.
- Order appraisal and internal evaluations.
- Process payments: review and process non-sufficient funds, (NSF), non-posts, loan disbursements, participation transactions, draw requests, payoff calculations, and wires.
- Complete Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) worksheet.
- Ensure both pre- and post-closing documentation has been received and reviewed. Once receipt and review are complete, forward necessary loan closing information to Loan Wholesale Operations for input.
- Prepare Participation Agreements and Closing cost documents while also forwarding documents and financials to title companies and participating banks as needed.
- Assist with draw functions that include: review and reconciliation of borrower draw requests, preparation of draw settlements, order and review date down endorsements, coordination of inspections, notification to participant banks for funding and schedule disbarments. Advise wire desk of incoming and outgoing wires and inform borrower once the draw has been funded.
- Monitor past dues, overdrawn accounts, and non-post items daily, review exceptions weekly and input pending items into system. Monitor conversion dates, interest rate changes, real estate taxes, insurance, inspections, UCC's, quarterly memos and term loan reviews.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training and follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or related field or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of one year banking experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.
- Knowledge of deposit accounts and related services strongly preferred.
