The Co-Curricular Faculty Support Coordinator provides support to co-curricular activities and faculty-driven events at Pepperdine Caruso Law to ensure that students have an exceptional educational experience in their activities outside of the classroom. Contribution to the University's mission and strategic plan is made by coordinating a diverse array of high-quality events by helping students explore and identify their purpose in the legal profession, enhancing the law school’s reputation, and introducing new speakers to the Caruso Law community. This position will advance the University's mission and the law school’s strategic plan by coordinating and executing myriad and varied, high-quality opportunities intended to help students explore and identify their purpose in the legal profession, enrich the academic and professional lives of students and the broader law school community, ensure the office of faculty support is empowered to support faculty in their curricular and co-curricular needs and to promote Pepperdine Caruso School of Law’s reputation.Duties Advocacy Competitions: Facilitate student participation in inter-school advocacy competitions by managing all travel and lodging for students and coaches; processing reimbursements for approved student and coach expenses; monitoring budgets with the supervision of the faculty director(s). Provide support and advertisement of student success through advocacy competitions by maintaining hall of honor photos for team; coordinating the publication of team success with the marketing and communication department; ordering and producing competition awards and certificates. Support the successful execution of the intra-school competitions by planning and coordinating all logistics related to the annual in-house competitions, including catering, room reservations, and set up, with flexibility for evenings and weekends; support the faculty advisor to ensure that appropriate judges are selected and confirmed for all rounds, including maintaining and updating potential judges' contact information, drafting and sending invitations, managing RSVPs and facilitating judging assignments, and supporting travel, lodging, and reimbursements for judges as needed; coordinating the publication of the competitions with the marketing and communication department. Faculty Events: Support the successful execution of faculty-driven events, such as lunchtime panels and symposia and conferences held at CSOL by planning and coordinating all logistics with the support of the CSOL events department, including catering, room reservations, and set up, with flexibility for evenings and weekends. Support faculty meals and events with students, including section lunches and dinners, faculty-student mentor lunches and group events, by planning and coordinating all logistics and facilitating the reimbursement process. Journals: Support faculty administration of student journals through ensuring the timely publication of print and digital journals; managing budget process; verifying student timesheets and credit allocation. Support the successful execution of the various journal symposia by planning and coordinating all logistics with the support of the CSOL events department, including catering, room reservations, and set up, with flexibility for evenings and weekends. Faculty Research Assistants: Support faculty research through the timely hiring and administration of student research assistants by processing student hires and reviewing and verifying timesheets. Ken Starr Institute and Nootbaar Institute: Support the Ken Starr Institute and Nootbaar Institute through coordination of financial and logistical details, including but not limited to processing and managing payments through university credit card, requisitions, and reimbursements, supporting the coordination of planning and scheduling of event related details, and compiling spend reports from activities. Perform other duties as assigned to support department functionality as dictated by coverage and department needs; in particular during exam times when the entire faculty support office is all hands on deck to support exams and during faculty journal article review seasons. Skills and Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of office experience. Familiarity with Google Workspace. Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail. Preferred: Ability to learn quickly, has strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff and students from varied backgrounds. Ability to prioritize and execute recurring tasks and responsibilities. Innovative and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to work cooperatively on a team while maintaining priorities and completing individual job tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to follow directions at the moment, under pressure, with a smile. Values and enjoys administrative tasks that contribute to a bigger picture. This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position. Expected Pay Range: $24.75 - $25.96 per hour
