Summary: The Project Coordinator (Engineering) assists with the everyday activities of several Project Managers including timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks pertaining to various manufacturing projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Micro tracking of line-item activity throughout entire value-stream, by working with functional leaders in manufacturing, suppliers and outsourced partners.
  • Proactively react to micro and macro problems with solution-based thinking, bringing solutions to the table.
  • Types/processes, maintains, and updates records of all correspondences, submittals, change orders, RFI’s, MBE/WBE participation, purchase orders, subcontracts and/or any other items.
  • Reviews and distributes incoming
  • communication pertaining to various Project Managers and manufacturing projects.
  • Constructs, organizes, and maintains an accurate and efficient filing system for all clerical items pertaining to various Project Managers and manufacturing projects (includes electronic filing).
  • Types, faxes, phones, emails, logs, and organizes any and all items pertaining to manufacturing projects.
  • Assists Project Managers with start-up and close-outs of all projects.
  • Assists with the overall organization of all archived items.
  • Assists with the coordination of all items pertaining to project turnover, progression, and closeout meetings
  • Takes meeting minutes when necessary.
  • Ensures excellent communication between all departments throughout the facilities.
  • Enforces and abides by all policies and procedures.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Sufficient knowledge of mathematics including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute and interpret charts and graphs.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, graphics, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Outlook).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree preferred or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in related industry

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Employee will be working in an office environment. May have occasion to be in manufacturing area, which has moving mechanical equipment, hazards associated with welding, airborne mists and particles, chemicals and loud shop noises.
