Human Resource Manager Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • 2-3+ years of management experience
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing or a similar industry; food manufacturing highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office 365, and Teams
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at their office in New Bedford, MA

Human Resource Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR operations for 110-150 employees, including seasonal and temporary staff
  • Manage and administer retirement benefits programs, conduct annual renewal processes, evaluation options, and pioneer plan improvements, while ensuring compliance at all times
  • Lead the recruitment process for senior positions and collaborate with temp agencies for manufacturing staff to post job openings, review resumes, and conduct first-round interviews
  • Review and update the employee handbook and other policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices
  • Maintain accurate employee records and prepare reports for management
  • Support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and engagement
  • Foster a positive workplace environment and address employee concerns
