REFUND COORDINATOR / REIMBURSEMENT SPECIALIST

Established, successful, award-winning practice currently has a Full-time need for an experienced, patient-oriented Refund Coordinator or Reimbursement Specialist to join our team onsite within our N. Dallas office, to issue reimbursements to guarantors and insurance carriers while verifying credit balance or overpayment validity, processing credit balances and insurance overpayments while maintaining account integrity.

  • Evaluating the account ledger and determining validity of credit balances or insurance overpayments.
  • Maintaining the credit balance report.
  • Identifying and correcting ledger errors creating inaccuracies.

Anticipate to last at least until the end of the year -- with possibility of going perm

Pay: $21.00/hr - $23.27/hr (Pay is Based on Experience - the more you have, the better)

Looking to start ASAP, within 1 to 2 weeks - Benefits begin immediately (below)

Schedule: Mon to Fri, 8 hour shift 8a - 5p (or 7a - 4p) | FT, 40 hours/week guaranteed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience as a Refund Coordinator in a healthcare or dental setting is required.
  • 2 years in Healthcare RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) required
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Passionate about healthcare excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Research inquiries regarding overpayments made by insurance companies.
  • Run and work credit balance refund report.
  • Follow appropriate refund policy for specific dollar amounts.
  • Resolve line by line posting for insurance overpayments.
  • Post patient and insurance refunds to patient accounts.
  • Report and track data; verify and perform mathematical computations; maintain files.
  • Work with practices within the organization in getting any necessary or requested documentation for patients, insurance carriers or other areas.
  • Handle correspondence regarding overpayment through banking system.
  • Initiate contact with guarantor if there is future or upcoming planned treatment to determine if credit to remain on account for treatment or if guarantor would like immediate refund.
  • May process incoming and outgoing mail related to refunds to both patient and insurance.
  • Enter contact notes related to all communications regarding account including phone, email, letter, spark, TEAMS, and all other methods of communications between patient, guarantor, insurance carrier, practice, and surgeon.
  • Provide the utmost level of customer service to the practice.
