Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled AR Specialist I to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for working with one or more account receivables management system modules to ensure accurate and timely billing and payment processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proficiency with one or more assigned receivables' management system modules, including patient registration, charge entry, coding, claims processing, collections, reports, and patient information inquiry.
  • Managing physician billing incoming correspondence via mail and electronic sources, such as EOBs, overpayment/refund requests, medical records requests, etc.
  • Review and identify EOBs, EOPs, payments, and other received data to index and distribute to AR Specialist II for follow-up.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing CMS 1500 claim forms.
  • Review payor portals to pull EOBs.
  • Manage a large volume of incoming paperwork and electronic data submissions.
  • Healthcare terminology surrounding medical diagnostic and procedural coding.
  • Manage office supplies and stock.
  • Microsoft Office software experience required.
  • On-base and EPIC experience preferred.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years collection experience is required.
