Summary: The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the CPC donor database management system (Raiser’s Edge) and all associated stewardship strategies including mailings and pledge fulfillments. This position will ensure efficiency and timeliness in processing donations and acknowledgements, including memberships, data integrity, prospecting, donor research, staff training, grant reporting deadlines, and payment portal management to maximize fundraising revenue, communication impact, and outreach. The Development Coordinator will also support CPC fundraising and membership events, membership programs, donor stewardship efforts, and key development activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Fundraising Database Administration (75%)

  • Oversee data entry, management, reporting, query needs, and ongoing maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Weekly processing of donations, memberships, and timely acknowledgement letters, along with other correspondence needed, such as tribute or memorial notes.
  • Consolidate, track, and analyze donor data across all fundraising efforts including bulk digital and mail communications, event invites, constituent outreach, fundraising campaigns, grant awards, and volunteer service.
  • Manage confidential, computerized records of financial and in-kind donors, prospects, their giving histories, and other personal information.
  • Work with staff who serve as relationship managers to create and monitor plans for advancing supporters’ engagement and contributions, based on donor data integrity and consistency to increase levels of involvement and investment.
  • Establish new reports and adapt ongoing reports to track giving levels, renewal rates, pledge collection deadlines, recurring gifts, and other data for ongoing and campaign donors.
  • Create and generate mailing lists for year-round fundraising, donor contact, event sponsor solicitations, annual appeals, and any additional mailings for the organization.
  • Conducts and ensures prompt responses to (in-person walk-ins, email and phone) member inquiries, requests and needs, solicits member feedback to improve services, always remains supportive and approachable. Elevates appropriate member and donor needs/requests/issues to Membership & Giving Manager.[AK1]
  • Batch, deposit, and support the fiscal department with monthly reconciliation of Raiser’s Edge with the general ledger.
  • Assist fiscal department with monthly reconciliation of pledges receivable and bank account deposit transactions, as well as annual reconciliation of all contributions, maintaining file systems and other records to support annual audit and annual report
  • Receive, record, and process grant funding, in addition to tracking reporting timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Membership Manager on routine donor correspondence to ensure relevancy, such as acknowledgement letters.
  • Directly respond to donor/member inquiries and complaints, via phone, email, or letter, including problems with checks, credit cards, EFT, and stock gifts.
  • Conduct staff training on Raiser’s Edge, as needed.
  • Continued education and growth in proficiency with Raiser’s Edge Database and CRM systems.

On-Site Coordination (15%)

  • Participate in fundraising and cultivation outreach, projects, and events.
  • Support on-site registration at event check-in tables
  • Attend fundraising events, approximately 6 times per year, some nights and weekends required.


Office Administration (10%)

  • Supports office supply management, departmental invoice processing, and fundraising and membership event support.
  • As directed by the Membership Manager, performs other duties as assigned to support the overall department and organization.
  • Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Fluid knowledge with Raiser’s Edge
  • Strong project and program skills required
  • Organized, self-directed, detail and deadline oriented
  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources, familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, strategies, procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work easily and effectively with a wide range of people
  • Sensitivity to and respect for the privacy rights of donors in all communications
  • A valid Louisiana driver’s license
