Role: Medical Billing and Administrative Associate (Durable Medical Equipment – DME)
Wage: $19.00-$22.00 per hour, potentially higher based on experience
Job Type: Part-time (25-30 hours per week)/ possible Full-time 40 hours per week
Job Location: Vancouver, WA with potential for hybrid hours after 90 day orientation period

Key Duties:
This position ensures acceptable insurance reimbursement and appropriate days in Accounts Receivable with timely account follow-up and resolution of outstanding charges owed by third party payors.
• Insurance Benefit Verifications: Acquire rundown of insurance benefits and use information to calculate patient portion of payment due
• Insurance Billing Order Reviews: Review medical records and prescriptions and compare to insurance policy guidelines to ensure claims are complete and compensable
• Insurance Billing: Assist the Billing Specialist with data entry, posting, transmitting, and appealing claims
• Accounts Receivable: Follow up on claims and work with billers, insurance companies, Sales Reps, patients, etc… through to payment or resolution of claim.
• Miscellaneous Admin: Additional support to Purchasing, Billing, Shipping, Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and general administration as needed


Education and Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2-year minimum experience with medical administration or billing. Medical front office experience preferred
• Medical Billing and/or Coding Certificate preferred but will accept equivalent knowledge and experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but will accept equivalent knowledge and experience
• Background in healthcare, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Home Medical Equipment (HME), chiropractic, physical therapy, or orthopedics is a plus
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and HCPCS/CPT codes is a plus
• Familiarity with EOB’s and Medical Billing software is a plus


Other Skills:
• Proficient use of Microsoft File Explorer, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Docusign, and Dropbox- key program features may be asked to be demonstrated during interview phase
• Must show examples of being reliable, responsible, energetic, very detail oriented, highly organized, and a team player
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and can perform high-level multi-tasking
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, and customer-service skills
• Diligent follow-through to completion of tasks, goal oriented
• Ability to work swiftly on computer for entire shift, prioritize, meet deadlines, remain focused
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic are mandatory for our busy, growing company
• Self-motivated, ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as in a collaborative team setting
• Must own smart phone


Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
• Work requires light physical exertion from up to 95% of the time
• Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less
• Work to be performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation
• Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail up to 95% of work time
