LHH Recruitment Solutions has an immediate opening for an experienced Payroll Manager to join the team of one of our clients that has presence nationwide The Payroll Manager will be responsible for payroll processing, state compliance, reporting, general ledger interface and provides expert advice and interpretation. The ideal candidate possess 10 years of experience working payroll duties and at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role in a demanding, fast paced environment. The opportunity is hybrid in Walnut Creek.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hands on processing of bi-weekly payroll transactions for partner and staff, verifying accuracy of data entry

  • Transact, review and approve new hires, salary change, overtime, sick pay, vacation, Section 125 and Section 401(k) deductions and leave of absence calculations

  • Supervise and mentor three staff members

  • Works closely with other departments across the organization, specially the HR and Benefits departments

  • Calculation and approval of termination paychecks and other out-of-cycle payroll checks

  • Continuous review of payroll policies, controls, compliance, and procedures

  • Quarterly Tax Filings for two states

  • Provides payroll expense, overtime expense, staffing, labor statistics, PTO liability reports

  • Review and approval of ADP Invoices

  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal payroll laws and regulations, including laws and regulations regarding wage levies and garnishments

  • Prepares GL Interface, journal entries and GL reconciliations.

  • Special projects and reports as assigned by the CFO.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Certified Payroll Professional

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Experience with ADP Vantage

  • Experience with State Income Tax and Unemployment Account Set up

  • Proficient in the with advanced Excel skills

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and respond quickly to changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently with little direction
