Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable to join our finance team. This role is integral in managing all aspects of the AR function, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collections, and cash application, and supporting our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Chinese, with strong experience in AR within the logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the entire AR process, including invoicing, collections, account reconciliation, and cash application.
  • Customer Account Reconciliation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve them quickly.
  • Credit Risk Management: Evaluate and monitor customer credit limits, collaborate with sales and operations teams to assess risk, and take action to minimize outstanding debt.
  • Collection Processes: Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure timely collections; follow up on overdue accounts and communicate with clients in English and Chinese to resolve payment issues.
  • Cash Application: Manage the cash application process, ensuring incoming payments are accurately and efficiently recorded in the accounting system.
  • Aging Report Analysis: Regularly review aging reports to track overdue balances and provide management with insights on collection status and potential risks.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and internal controls in all AR processes.
  • Cross-department Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, operations, and sales teams to address any issues related to customer payments or disputes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is required.
  • Experience with ERP and WMS systems (e.g., Cargowise, SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal control practices.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
