This role demands a detail-oriented professional who can manage complex payroll tasks while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify payroll for a substantial employee base (7,000+ employees) on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Ensure the accuracy of payroll data by reviewing timekeeping records, attendance, and leave requests.
- Manage payroll tax calculations and ensure the timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax payments.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll issues, including deductions, adjustments, and other payroll-related concerns.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with year-end processing and reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
- Develop and maintain payroll procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, managing payroll for large, multi-state employee groups.
Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional) are a plus.
