SUMMARY:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for the organization. Daily records keeping, financial reporting and the preparation of tax records for the financial audits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
Handles accounts payable for separate entities and Business Partners.
Analyze workflow process.
Establish and maintains relationships with new and existing Business Partners.
Ensures bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to Division’s procedures.
Process due invoices for payment.
Performs collections for those invoices that are due.
Compares purchase orders, prices, terms and payment and other charges.
Process transactions and performs accounting duties such as account maintenance, records entries and reconciles books of accounts.
Monitors the expenses of the organization.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers, as well as controls petty cash spending.
Issues purchase orders amendments and stop payments.
Keeps the organization informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Reconcile account transactions with general ledger or accounting information.
Resolves any payment disputes with vendors or Business Partners.
Optimized expense control processes.
Process bi-weekly payroll for the organization
Monitor’s billing and accounting discrepancies and resolves them as they occur.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or associate Degree in accounting, finance.
At least two years’ experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist.
Extensive experience in account reconciliations.
Familiarity with financial software
Advanced competency in accounting and business management software
In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Proficiency in QuickBooks
