Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team operating in the Defense Service industry, based in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves managing and maintaining our financial accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity with potential for permanent permanent, that will be carried out remotely.
Responsibilities:
• Process invoices efficiently and accurately, ensuring all account details are up-to-date. • Utilize accounting software systems such as Deltek Costpoint to manage customer credit applications. • Maintain and review customer credit records, identifying any discrepancies or issues. • Utilize ADP - Financial Services and Concur for various accounting functions. • Regularly audit accounts payable records for accuracy and compliance. • Manage account coding processes and ensure the accuracy of data entry. • Address and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Use ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for efficient management of financial resources. • Handle 1099 reporting and other financial reporting duties.• Prior experience of 2+ years in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar within the Defense Service industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
• Knowledge and experience in Concur
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Ability to execute Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Understanding and application of Accrual Accounting
• Auditing skills
• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Proficiency in using Costpoint - Deltek
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
• Excellent time management skills and able to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting.
