Job Title: Payroll Tax Consultant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Tax Consultant with a minimum of 2 years of payroll experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, assisting with payroll tax audits, and providing expert advice on payroll tax matters. This role requires strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a solid understanding of payroll systems and tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure the accuracy of payroll tax calculations, filings, and payments.

  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance.

  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., 941, 940, W-2, and state unemployment forms).

  • Resolve payroll tax discrepancies and respond to inquiries from tax agencies.

  • Provide guidance on payroll tax implications for various compensation and benefit programs.

  • Collaborate with the payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

  • Assist in payroll tax audits, including gathering and analyzing required documentation.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll tax compliance and efficiency.

  • Provide training and support to team members on payroll tax-related topics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, with a focus on payroll tax compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

  • Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).

  • Experience with payroll tax filings and reconciliation processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).



Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
