Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Catering General Manager to oversee and drive our catering operations at a premier event venue in Staten Island. This role combines operational leadership with sales and client relations, focusing on delivering exceptional events and growing our business through a blend of strategy and hands-on involvement. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, proven experience in the catering or hospitality industry, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission, rewarding growth and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of catering operations, including event planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guests.
  • Drive sales by developing relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and creating tailored proposals to exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary and event teams to design and deliver menus and experiences that align with client goals and venue standards.
  • Manage budget and financials, working with leadership to meet revenue targets and control expenses.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of catering staff, fostering a high level of professionalism, service, and teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards to maintain an exceptional venue reputation.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including networking, client engagement, and promotional strategies to increase bookings and revenue.
  • Oversee event set-up and logistics, ensuring every detail aligns with the agreed plan and exceeds client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or Senior Manager in catering, hospitality, or event management.
  • Strong sales and client relationship skills with a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, with knowledge of catering best practices.
