Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis pivotal role will support the hotel's mission of fostering an inclusive, motivating, and supportive environment for all team members. As a hands-on, one-person HR department, you’ll work directly with the General Manager to shape and enhance the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations: Create a harmonious work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and facilitating open communication between staff and management.

Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the complete recruitment process—posting jobs, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth integration into our team.

Training & Development: Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, promote career growth, and ensure ongoing development.

Performance Management: Oversee performance appraisals, providing guidance to both managers and employees on career development and feedback.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, hotel policies, and collective bargaining agreements while maintaining up-to-date employee records.

Culture & Engagement: Coordinate team-building activities, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture.

HR Administration: Oversee administrative HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and maintaining comprehensive employee documentation.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Proven experience in an HR role, ideally within the hospitality industry, with strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

Experience working in a unionized environment and familiarity with union-related matters is highly beneficial.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
