Robert Half is in search of a Human Resources Specialist to join a company in Santa Barbara, California. This role is crucial to our team, focusing on a variety of human resources tasks including onboarding, recruiting, and benefits administration. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboarding process from offer acceptance to integration.
  • Provide guidance to new hires, ensuring access to resources and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with paperwork, benefits enrollment, IT setup, and prepare onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate onboarding presentations and align new employees with their teams.
  • Source candidates via online platforms, career fairs, and university visits.
  • Screen applications, conduct interviews, and perform background checks.
  • Provide hiring managers with shortlists of qualified candidates.
  • Make job offers and support new hires through their onboarding.
  • Track recruitment metrics and support employer brand initiatives.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health and retirement plans.
  • Provide support on benefits policies, enrollment, and claims.
  • Act as liaison between employees and benefits providers.
  • Administer open enrollment and maintain benefits records in HR systems.
  • Reconcile vendor invoices and ensure compliance with benefits regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in HR, recruitment, and benefits administration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and employee benefits programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and other HR-related tools.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
