Human Resources Specialist Needed in Santa Maria (in-person)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Human Resources and is responsible for coordinating functions and duties in support of projects and programs for the human resources department. This role will include support in various human resource functions including recruiting, social media, HRIS Systems Management, Career Fairs, Administration



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· HR Department Support

o Support recruiting efforts by assisting recruiting team by managing social media, placing ads, and conducting Background and Reference Checks.

o New hire on-boarding.

o Enter new hire information and maintain employee data in the HR information systems.

o Schedule and support HR Events.

o Support HR projects including annual benefits enrollment, performance management, auditing, training, etc.

o Coordinate logistics for training events with the departments.

o Act as the backup for assigned HR functions.

· Administrative Support

o Write and send employee communications for company events, wellness challenges, and employee perks and benefits, etc.

o Provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Human Resources.



· Systems Support

o Create ad hoc reports, manage training enrollment, and maintain distribution list.

o In conjunction with the Operations Generalist update and maintain users lists and enrollments.

o Assist with user management for all HR systems; this includes troubleshooting for users.

o Manage the HR ticket queue input.

o Create detailed analysis for HR reporting and research.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Required:

o Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and three (3) years of direct experience working in an administrative role in a highly generalized human resources department or six (6) years of direct experience as an HR Coordinator in a mid-sized company.

o Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as a part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize deadlines & projects, including coordinating the efforts of multiple contributors, and establish time frames for completion of projects and assignments.

o Willingness and ability to embrace and follow the Bonita Packing Co. Employee Handbook. Ability to interact constructively and employees at all levels, upper management, owners, and community members, with diverse personalities and cultures, exercising sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy with an emphasis on flexibility, customer service and professionalism.

o Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, including effective writing skills to prepare correspondence, various documents and reports, and email with knowledge of correct usage of English language, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

o Willingness and ability to meet Bonita Packing and department standards for attendance.

o Demonstrated proficiency with Windows operating systems and related business and communication software and a demonstrated ability to learn and use various campus administrative computing systems and applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI, and human resources information systems (HRIS) with the ability to update and expand skills as needed.

o Knowledge of CA employment laws, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, fair hiring, and other human resource compliance issues.

· Desired:

o Experience in planning employee functions including job fairs, trainings, and various meetings.

o Demonstrated strong customer service experience in HR.

o Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multi- project, multi-demanding environment. Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion.

o Familiar with video chat and similar technology a plus
