Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client in Carlisle, PA is seeking a motivated candidate for an open Accounts Payable Specialist position. This position is responsible for high-volume invoicing, coordinating with vendors to investigate and resolve discrepancies, and run payments via cash, check, and ACH/wire transfer. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a large employer in the area with substantial growth opportunity
Responsibilities:
• Accurately processing bills using specified accounting software
• Assisting in all areas of accounts payable as needed
• Overseeing third party direct ship payment format
• Ensuring correct use tax liability for manufacturers in multiple states
• Recording monthly journal entries
• Performing monthly maintenance and research of specific accounts
• Undertaking account reconciliations and special projects as assigned
• Processing large volumes of outbound freight shipment invoices daily
• Running payments through various methods, including checks and wires
• Running metric reporting to pinpoint areas of concern and show progress and efficiencies
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory for this role
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is required
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Excel is a must-have
• Knowledge of SAP software is strongly preferred
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred
• Prior experience in a similar role in the finance or accounting sector is beneficial
