Colorado Retina Associates is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering top-notch ophthalmic services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians in patient care, including performing technical work-ups, patient interviews, and specialized diagnostic testing.
- Administer topical ophthalmic and oral medications as directed by the prescribing physician.
- Efficiently and accurately obtain and document patient history, ensuring seamless communication with patients and healthcare teams.
- Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, symptoms, and surgery scheduling.
- Assist with minor procedures in office, including intraocular injection prep and laser procedures.
- Apply electronic medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Follow all physician preference guidelines and standard work procedures.
- Pursue cross-training in all clinical skills and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Attend mandatory quarterly clinical meetings and other meetings as necessary.
- Travel as needed for clinic coverage and/or training.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some college or degree preferred
- General understanding of ophthalmic practice, patient care, and terminology
- Knowledge of medical instrumentation and proper care and usage
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient typing/keyboarding skills
- COA/COT/COMT certification desired
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) preferred
- At least one year of ophthalmic technician experience
- Average or above-average chart audit score within the past 90 days
- Successful completion and passing score of Tech II test

Work EnvironmentWork is occasionally performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
