Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Denver, Colorado. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting medical providers in the examination and treatment of eye disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms for use by medical providers, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Interview patients to obtain ocular history, family history, systemic illness, allergies, and medications, and document this information in the electronic medical record.
  • Perform basic and routine vision screening examinations, recording data on standard formats for interpretation by medical providers.
  • Assist medical providers during minor surgical and laser procedures, setting up necessary equipment, attending to patients during the procedure, and providing appropriate supplies and instruments as directed.
  • Scan and upload medical documentation, and perform routine clerical and reception duties as directed.
  • Administer medication as ordered by providers, and prepare injectable medication as directed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ophthalmic Technician Certificate.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities, and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of previous work experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
