About the Role:

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality eye care services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Eye Clinic providers in generating preliminary information and reviewing patient status.
  • Perform medical tests and procedures, including visual acuity testing and diagnostic testing.
  • Provide case management and advocacy services to patients, helping them overcome barriers to eye care.
  • Coordinate care with medical providers and track high-risk return visits for patients with pathology.
  • Educate patients on eye diagnosis, treatment, and care plans.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification preferred.
  • One year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably eye care.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
