Description
Position Overview
The role involves providing support across various branches to assist members and prospective clients with transactions, account openings, loan evaluations, and decision-making in accordance with lending policies. This position may also require engagement in other operational areas within the credit union as necessary for business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Welcomes and assists members at the credit union with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring prompt and accurate service for all transactions.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all credit union offerings, policies, and relevant regulations, including security protocols.
Conducts interviews with loan applicants and reviews their submissions to gather information regarding their financial needs and status.
Evaluates the financial circumstances of applicants to assess the risk associated with extending credit, making informed decisions to approve, deny, or escalate loan requests.
Facilitates account management for members, addressing inquiries about products and services, resolving issues within established authority, and referring complex matters to management with suggested solutions.
Assists members with Individual Retirement Account (IRA) transactions, including account openings, transfers, deposits, and withdrawals.
Investigates and resolves discrepancies related to member accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
Processes deposits, verifies amounts, and ensures proper endorsement of checks.
Handles cash withdrawals and loan payments, ensuring compliance with verification protocols.
Balances cash drawers, investigates discrepancies, and reports findings to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
Promotes and cross-sells all credit union products and services to enhance member engagement.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Intermediate proficiency in PC usage, including basic Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel and work at various locations as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
Up to one year of relevant experience.
Familiarity with 10-key calculator operations.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
Strong communication skills, demonstrating a courteous and professional demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal skills, characterized by diplomacy and tact.
Good organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of federal regulations governing financial transactions, IRA processes, and loan assessments.
Expectations
Respond to all communications in a timely manner.
Achieve performance targets set by management, including error rates and loan-related metrics.
Ability to seamlessly transition between frontline and drive-thru service to maintain efficiency.
Capability to remain seated for extended periods.
