Aquatics Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Coordinator to join our team at The Granite YMCA. As a key member of our aquatics department, you will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our members and participants in the pool area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for members and participants in the pool area.
  • Act as a shift supervisor in the absence of the Aquatics Director and provide leadership and guidance to staff.
  • Recognize and respond to hazardous situations, supervise swimmers, and minimize dangers.
  • Educate members about water safety, enforce rules and regulations, and prepare records and reports.
  • Assist the Aquatics Director with program implementation, staff training and development, member engagement, and department programming and promotion.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' coaching, lifeguard, or swim instructor experience.
  • Must be able to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
