Key Responsibilities

Peraton is on the lookout for a Senior Cybersecurity Software Engineer to enhance our Cyber Intelligence team. This role involves engaging with a highly scalable enterprise platform, developed using Java and leveraging open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo, aimed at facilitating data-driven analytics on a managed infrastructure. We seek a Software Engineer to strengthen our existing foundations team. An ideal candidate will possess experience in Linux administration on extensive Hadoop and Accumulo clusters utilizing CentOS 7 or RHEL. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in Linux, Python/Bash, and Configuration Management tools (Salt, Puppet, or Ansible), along with familiarity in Docker and Kubernetes.

Essential Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is mandatory.
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in software development/engineering, encompassing requirements analysis, software creation, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is required.
    • Five (5) years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Commitment to contributing to open-source projects.
  • Experience in Java programming for distributed systems, including networking and multi-threading.
  • A Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification is essential.
