KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary objective of this role is to serve as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager, overseeing the financial operations at a manufacturing site. The Plant Controller will effectively manage resources to ensure production schedules and customer expectations are met while fulfilling site requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Compliance

  • Complete accountability for the Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet.
  • Adhering to the financial reporting standards of the company and business unit.
  • Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements regarding internal controls.
  • Serving as the primary authority on GAAP-related accounting issues for the site, including revenue recognition and cost accounting.
  • Acting as the main liaison with external auditors on site-related matters.

Leadership

  • Overseeing department personnel.
  • Mentoring Finance team members.
  • Setting objectives and assessing team performance against these goals.

Business Partnership

  • Identifying key drivers for business enhancement and providing leadership for the implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating with plant management to establish targeted performance goals in areas such as quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory management, and profitability.
  • Coordinating and managing a comprehensive operational control plan, including profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, cost standards, savings opportunities, and capital investments.
  • Implementing business unit initiatives.
  • Managing the capital appropriation process and conducting post-project evaluations.
  • Forecasting both short- and long-term cash needs to ensure sufficient funding.
  • Keeping the Segment Corporate Controller updated on site performance and advising on financial matters, including necessary operational adjustments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Access to export-controlled items is required; employment offers are contingent upon the ability to lawfully obtain access.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is mandatory; verification will be required at the time of hire.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or Finance Accounting from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, CMA, and/or CPA credentials.
  • Experience as a Plant Controller in a manufacturing environment with annual revenues exceeding $150 million.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with a focus on managing and developing staff.
  • High proficiency in MS Office; experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Solid cost accounting expertise, including multi-level routing and bill of material cost accounting.
  • Ability to delve into details and tackle complex projects.
  • Capacity to convey intricate financial information in an accessible manner to non-financial personnel.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience with query tools such as Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Background in job order/discrete manufacturing settings.
